REDS Ranchi implements actively several outreach programs for the ongoing development of its beneficiaries. The Marianists, the staff and the volunteers meet regularly at Gyan Deep, Lowadih to plan, evaluate and to improve their knowledge by mutual sharing. A few of the former beneficiaries also have joined the team. The team had organized several meetings with the guardians and the parents in the neighborhood, through expertise from the field.
The Marianists communities, FMI Sisters and their supporting staff, MLC Members and volunteers in Ranchi are sharing their available resources with REDS. The beneficiaries, the formal and non-formal students relate well with them and continue to use these opportunities for their socio-economical developments. Their families co-operate with the field staff to obtain the maximum benefit for their children’s development. The students’ academic-progress encourages the team, which is constantly looking forward for their holistic development.
As a part of vocational training, tailoring, embroidery, handloom and basic computer training programs are being operated from REDS Prerna Center, Lowadih.
These income generating activities helps the trainees to find marketable jobs immediately. So far, many of them have excelled these skills and are grateful to REDS. Our beneficiaries and the college students utilize the computer center to advance in digital knowledge and soft skills. REDS Ranchi, through the Family Apostolate Projects, continues to provide medical aid, assists in pre and postnatal care to the needy and to those who are enrolled in REDS, works for the family counseling, educates on social values, and creates awareness on healthy family environment. There are 12 contact centers in the nearby slums. The child-laborers visit these centers for nutrition, medication and for basic literacy. The school dropouts come with their siblings, after their occupation. The literacy programs helped the school dropouts to reenroll at the nearby formal schools to complete their studies. REDS Ranchi helps them in their educational needs, monitors their progress and interacts with the school authorities.
