	CALENDAR			training program will change to a 3 year program: 2 years devoted to training followed by a year of practical work within the STC. During the final year, the boys will earn an income that will be kept in their individual bank account, set up by REDS. Thus, they will have steady work, with the proper guidance to accompany it. In the past, it has been difficult for boys to readjust to life in the slums, reintroduced to the temptations they were able to escape at Deepahalli. They will be able to save their money, understand what it feels like to do so, and, ideally, carry the habit with them through life.

				To accom0date the increase in boys that will come with this upgrade, a new multipurpose building is being built at Deepahalli. When complete, the 3 story building will facilitate meals, classrooms, a chapel, kitchen, multipurpose hall, offices, an infirmary, staff quarters, and student housing. To contribute, the welding and carpentry units created bunk beds, tables, benches, doors, and windows for the building. A computer center will also be in place to afford the boys the basic computing skills necessary to bring them into the mainstream of society.
				Much thanks an appreciation goes to Fr. Dave Paul who has worked countless hours to generate funds for this expansion. USA donors and the Marianist General Administration have continued to contribute with unmatched support. It is only through donations such as these that we will be able to finish what we have begun. At present, the second floor is still in the building process and continued funding is necessary. We will continue to pray for your open hearts and generosity.
				Lastly, REDS is creating 2 new training units. In addition to the present carpentry, welding, and tailoring units, an electrical & plumbing unit, as well as an air conditioner & refridgeration unit, will open in the near future. Most boys coming to the STC have little interest in book learning, but a great need for a manual skill, which the REDS STC seeks to fulfill.
