	STUDY CENTERS			The reality of India's waste issue is recognized by the REDS Organization. Thus we have developed a Solid Waste Management Unit to involve the community not only in finding solutions to the problem, but also developing those involved. The SWM program employs impoverished people whose livelihoods depend upon ragpicking. Five families are involved in the REDS

	CONTACT		door-to-door collection, securing a form of more socially acceptable and economically sustainable work. The coordinator of the program motivates the individuals involved to save their earnings, which has led to their social development and support of one another. The team of workers involved has used their money to renovate their homes and invest in their children's educations.
