STUDY CENTERS   Student participation The primary objective of the REDS Day Care Centers
is to provide a space where children involved in ragpicking can relax and sleep after their rounds. Most of the children who come are dropouts, runaways, or abandoned. Further, the children are counseled and motivated to return to formal schooling. Parents of these 6-18 year olds, when present, are also involved in the centers so that when the child does return to school, they are capable of providing the necessary support.

On the 14th of November, the Bangalore and Deepahalli REDS communities celebrated their 25 years of work with the ragpicking families of Bangalore. For this year's REDS Annual Day, meals and entertainment were provided to over 700 children who came to Deepahalli for the day's festivities. After a prayer song and welcome by Chief Guest Mrs. Rani Beosai, of Biocon, a cultural program, including dances and songs by the children, was conducted. Games were organized by our Marianist brothers and a magic show entertained. The afternoon was capped off with a performance by a local band that played hit songs to which the children danced and sang.
